Turn based sci-fi game

This project is based on a 24 hour challenge to see how fast I could develop a game. I liked this project and decided to continue working on it.

For now, the player has to neutralise incoming enemies before they manage to eliminate the player's character.

The gameplay system is inspired by several games like: the tabletop game Warhammer 40k Killteam, 40k Mechanicus, Xcom, Alien Dark Descent, Darkest Dungeon to name a few.

This project is in the experimental stage and several ideas are being tested, so the direction of this project may still change.

I am not sure in which direction I will go, as it is in a stage where I will try out several ideas.

Controls:

Left mouse button: Choose your characters or shoot the enemy.
Right mouse button: Move your characters.

    To reload, press reload.

Characters can change their equipped weapon by pressing buttons.

    PRESS ESC: Quit the game.

To end the turn, press the "EndTurn" button. Be careful, this will end the turn regardless of whether other units can still perform actions.

Next to do:

Add more actions to the game

        Reload (Done)

        Grenade (To do)

        Meele (Done)

        Abilities for characters

    Refine gameplay

    Better user experience

    Rework the hitscan system

More VFX to represent the game feel.

Also give player character different weapon

    Rework AI

    Create a real mission

Possible feature list

    Fog of war

    Exploration

    GOAP AI System

would you be able to make more complex ai behaviours something like they got in left 4 dead ?

Hello there.  I recently uploaded a build where the AI actively finds a position where the player character cannot shoot at it (basically taking cover). To answer your question. I am planning to create a more complex AI system, but how this system will work will depend heavily on the gameplay, so I cannot say if it will work like Left for Dead or if I will decide on a different approach.

whats your discord ?
